"Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate". - Carl Jung
Approach:
My approach to Couples Counselling and Psychotherapy encompasses the whole person, physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual. I believe that there is an innate thrust in all of life to grow and evolve and that situations we are challenged with, however difficult, are opportunities to do just this. In meeting our challenges we are required to find within ourselves, and within our relationships, qualities that we are perhaps unaware of possessing and it is in connecting with and manifesting these that we heal, grow and expand.
My focus is on relationship. I see the relationship to oneself as the template and foundation for our relationship to the world and the people we engage with.
I see my role as that of a facilitator, helping individuals or couples to firstly contain the difficult situation they are in so that it is not such a destructive threat to their life or relationship; secondly to identify the qualities needed to resolve or heal their situation and to learn to recognize these within themselves; and finally to find a way of integrating these qualities into a more conscious, mature and fulfilling way of being.
My intention is to provide a safe, supportive space, in Bristol, in which individuals and couples can explore their thoughts and deepest feelings, unfold their potential, find a greater sense of well being and connect with a more empowered and authentic sense of self.
My Couples Counselling, Psychotherapy and Supervision practice is based in Bristol and within easy reach of Bath, Chippenham, Weston-Super-Mare, Clevedon. See About Me page for map and details. I also work with couples and individuals on Skype or Zoom. See Skype/Zoom page for more details.

"Working with Bryan is a very enjoyable experience, inspiring and enlightening. Bryan is great because he is honest, yet does not take sides, you feel he has both your backs! Bryan is very supportive and helps us feel at ease with extremely sensitive issues.
>> Bryan has helped our relationship in many ways, mainly helping us to see things from each other’s perspective and reminding us of how to do this, Bryan is steadfast in his approach and very encouraging. Through sessions with him, our communication has improved and willingness to be more open-minded. Bryan has helped our heart connect as well as improve our carefully chosen words.
>> Working on skype from Orkney, an island off the north coast of Scotland has been excellent and we can tune in wherever in the world we are. Online sessions offer great flexibility.
An added benefit of working on skype is that we are in our own home and therefore we get used to dialoguing in our own home environment so we have become increasingly comfortable with this new language and highly evolved approach to conflict resolution.
Imago is just amazing! A whole new world of life and love! Couldn’t live without imago!
Thank you Bryan
